Corporate Headshots in Santa Fe: What to Wear, Where to Shoot, and How to Prepare
A corporate headshot has one job: it tells people who you are before you say a word. If it looks like a license photo or a conference lanyard image, it is working against you. I photograph corporate headshots in Santa Fe for executives, attorneys, real estate professionals, healthcare providers, speakers, and creative professionals. The goal is always the same — a clean, professional image that looks like you on your best day, not a version of you that had to hold a pose for thirty seconds.

What to wear
Wear what you wear to your most important client meeting. Not a costume, not something chosen specifically for the camera — your actual professional wardrobe. Solids perform better than patterns on camera. Jewel tones photograph well on most skin tones. Avoid all-white or all-black unless you have a specific reason.
Bring two or three options if you are unsure. We can decide on location which reads best against the background we are using. For executives who need a range of images — casual, business casual, formal — a wardrobe change mid-session is easy to accommodate.
Hair and makeup: show up the way you would for an important meeting. Light retouching on final images handles minor skin issues. Heavy makeup applied specifically for photography tends to look exactly that.
Where we shoot in Santa Fe
Most of my Santa Fe headshot sessions move between two or three locations — a combination of indoor and outdoor — to give you variety in the final gallery. Common setups:
Natural light indoor. Clean walls, window light, architectural elements. Works in hotel lobbies, office common areas, gallery spaces, and anywhere with decent window access and neutral tones. The bokeh (background blur) from a wide aperture keeps the environment subtle so the focus stays on you.
Outdoor in Santa Fe. Adobe walls in the historic district, the Railyard's industrial textures, Canyon Road's layered gardens, the clean architectural lines of Museum Hill. Santa Fe offers more usable headshot backdrops per square mile than almost any city its size. The high-altitude light is exceptional in the morning and the hour before sunset.
Controlled studio setup. When you need a clean, consistent look across a full team — same background, same lighting ratio, same framing for every person — I set up a portable studio wherever works for you. Your office, a conference room, a private room at a hotel. This is the most efficient approach for teams of five or more.
Corporate team headshots
For teams of five or more, I come to you. I set up the lighting and backdrop in a conference room or common area and run an efficient rotation — each person gets ten to fifteen minutes, which is enough time to produce two or three strong selects. I can photograph fifteen to twenty people in a half day. Edited selects delivered within one week.
Team headshot pricing starts at $75 per person with a five-person minimum. Full-day on-site rates for larger teams available on request. I regularly photograph teams for law firms, real estate brokerages, tech companies, healthcare practices, nonprofits, and startups throughout the Santa Fe and Albuquerque corridor.
LinkedIn and personal branding headshots
LinkedIn headshot sessions focus on producing one strong image that represents you well in a 400x400 pixel frame alongside your name. These sessions run 30 to 45 minutes, one or two locations, one wardrobe option. You leave with five to eight edited selects. From $350.
Personal branding sessions run 90 minutes to two hours and are designed for professionals who need a library of images across multiple looks — for a website, a book launch, a speaking portfolio, or ongoing social content.
