Santa Fe Elopement Photographer
Why Santa Fe for Your Elopement
Santa Fe is one of the best elopement destinations in the Southwest, and it's not hard to see why. The light here is different — golden and warm, the kind that makes everything look like a painting. Pair that with adobe architecture, high desert landscapes, and mountains in every direction, and you have a backdrop that doesn't need any embellishment.
I've photographed elopements across Santa Fe and New Mexico — from the slot canyons at Tent Rocks to quiet ceremonies in the Santa Fe National Forest. Every elopement is different, and that's what makes them worth documenting.

Best Elopement Locations in Santa Fe
New Mexico is full of places that feel like they were made for elopements. Here are some of the best spots I've worked at:
- Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks — dramatic slot canyons and hoodoo formations, completely unique
- Santa Fe National Forest — aspen groves in fall, wildflowers in summer, snow-dusted pines in winter
- The Mystic — boutique hotel with a rooftop ceremony space and mountain views
- Meow Wolf area — if you want something unconventional and art-forward
- Diablo Canyon — red rock formations with a remote, adventurous feel
- La Fonda on the Plaza — historic Santa Fe charm, perfect for an intimate celebration
- Sunrise Springs — Japanese-inspired gardens and a serene atmosphere

What's Included in an Elopement Package
Elopement packages start at $1,000 and include:
- Up to 3 hours of coverage — ceremony, portraits, and exploration
- Location scouting and timeline planning
- Full gallery of edited images (typically 150-300 photos)
- Online gallery for sharing and downloading
- Print release for all images
Need more time? Extended coverage, second shooters, and adventure sessions (hiking to remote locations) are all available. Every elopement is different, so I build packages around what you actually need.

Planning Your Santa Fe Elopement
New Mexico doesn't require witnesses for a marriage license, which makes elopements here logistically simple. You'll need to get your license from the Santa Fe County Clerk (no waiting period, valid for the ceremony the same day). I can recommend officiants if you need one.
For timing, the best light in Santa Fe happens in the hour before sunset — the "golden hour" that photographers talk about is especially dramatic here because of the altitude and dry air. Fall (September-November) and spring (April-May) offer the most comfortable weather and the best colors.

Adventure Elopements
If you want something more than a standard ceremony, I also do adventure elopements — hikes to remote locations, sunrise sessions on mountaintops, or multi-location days that take in the best of what New Mexico has to offer. These require a bit more planning, but the results are worth it. Some of my favorite images have come from couples willing to put on hiking boots and climb to a spot nobody else would think to get married at.

Book Your Elopement
Whether you're planning a quiet ceremony for two in the desert or a small celebration with your closest people, I'd love to hear about it. Get in touch here or email me directly — I typically book elopements 2-4 months in advance, but I can accommodate shorter timelines when available.
Based in Santa Fe, available for elopements anywhere in New Mexico and beyond.
